Having a boyfriend is usually high maintenance, and it comes with a lot of compromises. One of the things your boyfriend has probably been pushing you to do is shave. Whether your boyfriend is pushing you to shave your legs, armpits, or genitals, you may be wondering if it is really worth it shave for his benefit. Pretty much every guy loves to make demands like this, but is it really worth it to shave just for him? This is a question you may not have ever been asking yourself, but it is one you should be considering. Just because your boyfriend is asking you to shave does not mean you have to. Here’s what you should be thinking about if your boyfriend has really been pushing you to shave for his benefit.
Why Bother if Not for Your Own Benefit?
First of all, why bother shaving if you are not the one who wants to do it? If you are not going to benefit from shaving, then there’s really no reason for you to do it. Sure, you may benefit in the fact that he might like it more, but you will personally not benefit from your sudden hairlessness. This is really something you should really be keeping in mind. Why bother going through all the trouble of shaving if it is not for your own personal benefit? If you like how it feels or how it looks, then go hog wild! But if you are just doing it for your boyfriend’s benefit, you should really be looking at the reasons why you are doing so. Is it really worth it to go through all that trouble just for your boyfriend to be a little more comfortable? Chances are he may not even know why he is more attracted to the shaved look, so it’s really important for you to think about it carefully.
The Reasons You Shouldn’t Bother
Let’s be real. Shaving is a gigantic pain in the ass, or wherever you are deciding to shave. Shaving your legs or armpits is usually not that big of a deal, but in a very delicate and complicated area like the genitals, you are just asking for trouble. Shaving by yourself can be extremely difficult, and you could wind up nicking yourself in the goods. Not fun. Not only that, but most people have hair that grows in quite quickly. You might experience a couple hours of smooth skin, but is that worth it? Not to mention, the ingrown hairs can be extremely painful and nobody likes to see that.
Compromising if You Must
If your boyfriend is really insisting on it, you may want to compromise. Getting a wax is a lot better than shaving because it is going to leave you a smoother skin and much less chance of ingrown hairs. You can always make him pay for it if he’s really insistent, and then he can have his cake and eat it too. You just won’t have to pay for it.
